Logo and design isn’t just pretty pictures. In our experience, a well designed piece of livery takes as much research and targeting as a campaign and has the power to make or break an idea, company or initiative.

Take our first logo below, for example. It is for Fairtrade retailer Etiko. They compete in a marketing space which is defined by a lot of greens, earthy colours and unbleached materials. Often Fairtrade brands use hand written fonts and a back to basics feel.

To help Etiko stand out in this space, and knowing that future growth would come from changing from an activist to a mainstream brand, we designed them a logo that is more glam than green and would be at home on a skate shoe. The perfect launch pad for their foray into new markets.

How we design a logo

  • research the market
  • survey the competition
  • consider future opportunities
  • be unexpected so your brand stands out
